Paul H. Welch, Chief Investment Officer, Director
Paul is Director of the Board of the company and chairman of the Investment Strategy Committee which mandates the investment policy for clients' funds to be utilized by the portfolio managers. Paul has been in the investment business since 1968 and he still makes managing individual portfolios and helping clients establish estate planning and long-term investment goals a priority. He is a former president and chief executive officer of a mutual fund distribution organization, and also created and served in similar roles for two trust companies in Dallas where he has resided since 1972.
A graduate of the George Washington University Law School in 1960, Paul is a member of the Texas Bar as well as an associate member of the bar of the Commonwealth of Virginia. He also achieved the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate Program. Paul is a member of the Dallas Foundation’s Advisory Council, and was recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as a Five Star Wealth Manager in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Clarissa L. Risner, President and Chief Operating Officer
As President and Chief Operating Officer of FFSS, Clarissa oversees the day-to-day business of the company. She is dedicated to maintaining the standards of stability and integrity established by her predecessors over the firm’s 30-year history. Clarissa joined the company in October 2000 after working as a traveling computer consultant for seven years. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in computer science with a minor in accounting from Texas A&M University and is a federally-licensed Enrolled Agent.
Clarissa is a busy mother of three and an active member of her church. She is an avid Texas A&M football fan.
Donald W. McCoy, Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager
Donald is a senior portfolio manager and a member of the Investment Strategy Committee. He began his investment career in 1968 and has extensive experience in portfolio management and client servicing. He places great value in the long and lasting relationships he has established with his clients at FFSS.
Donald graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1968 with a degree in finance. After graduation, he worked for a large Dallas bank as a Security Trader Analyst and Portfolio Manager responsible for the management of all personal trusts valued in excess of $200 million. He left the bank to join Paul Welch at a trust company which managed over $350 million in assets.
Active in his church, Donald has served on the Board of Elders, Board of Deacons, Chairman of the Building Committee, and President of the Exchange Club at Lake Highlands Church. He is also a member of the Lake Highlands Young Life Board, and a committee member of the YMCA
Richard A. Wright, CFA, Vice President and Portfolio Manager
Richard is a portfolio manager and a member of the Investment Strategy Committee. A holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, he is also responsible for conducting research on current holdings, initiating investment ideas consistent with the current economic and market outlook and recommending the investment strategy. Richard joined Fiduciary Financial in 1999. He has been recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as a Five Star Wealth Manager from 2011-2015. Richard enjoys playing basketball and golf.
Nolan Hughes, Chief Compliance Officer
Nolan oversees all compliance issues to ensure that all actions taken by FFSS comply with all set rules and regulations to protect our associates and our clients. He began his career in financial services as a financial advisor in 2006. But since 2007, he has made a career in compliance in roles ranging from Principal Review to Surveillance and Capital Markets Compliance Officer. He joined Wunderlich in 2011, and was named Chief Compliance Officer for FFSS in 2018. Nolan currently volunteers as a T-Ball coach for his child’s school. He is an avid outdoorsman and participates in many conservation and stream cleanup events.
Michael Gavett, Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager
Michael joined FFSS in February 2014 and serves as a senior portfolio manager. Mike has been in the financial services industry since 1996, including almost 10 years as a founding partner of a local RIA/Broker Dealer. Before becoming an investment advisor, Mike was a bank examiner for the State of Texas. He is a 1993 graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in finance. Mike has been actively involved in coaching a variety of children’s athletic teams for the last 10 years in the Allen and Plano communities.
Regina K. Kolkhorst, Director of Information Technology
Regina administers the company’s computer system, oversees daily account operations and reconciles client accounts. Before joining the FFSS team in 1996, Regina worked as a contractor for the Resolution Trust Corporation/FDIC. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Dallas and is currently an Advent Users Group member.
Brandy L. Bailey, Client Services Representative
Brandy joined FFSS in June 2004 from the Sears Regional Office, where she worked as a Technical Assortment Specialist for a year. Prior to that, she was a Customer Service Specialist for Sears while a student at the University of North Texas, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations and a minor in business administration.
Cecelia A. Fisher, Client Services Representative
Cecelia joined FFSS in 2006, bringing 20 years of professional experience as a documentation specialist, project coordinator and client services representative in a life insurance software company. Cecelia holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas A&M University and studied linguistics while training with the International Institute of Linguistics as a linguist and literacy specialist in Duncanville, Texas.
Karen A. Garner, Client Services Representative
Karen joined FFSS in October of 2007. Prior to that, she worked in administrative and education positions in the public and private sector for more than 20 years. Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree in business education from Abilene Christian University and a Master’s degree in education from the University of Florida.
Meagan Womack, Operations Assistant
Meagan joined FFSS in February 2016. Meagan assists with account operations and reconciliation of client accounts. She also supports the client services team. Meagan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma.
